The Distribution and Collection Crew responded to twenty-nine (29) calls for service, to include assisting JISD with a leak near the baseball field. They also assisted the Parks and Recreation Department repair a door on one of the airport hangars.
The Street asphalted part of East Archer and part of East Belknap. They also welcomed a new employee this week, Mr. Jesse Parkey.
"Landman" was back in town filming a few scenes. We assisted the Sheriff's Department by blocking off several streets near the square.
The Building Inspector completed seven (7) inspections and continued to work on several property abatements.
The Police Department will be swearing in Mr. Alvin Bilby on Monday, August the 11th during the Council Meeting. Please help welcome soon-to-be Lieutenant Bilby to the Police Department.
We continued to draft the budget for next fiscal year. The Council will have an updated copy prior to the meeting on Monday for discussion.
The Friends of the Animal Shelter are having a drawing on Saturday, August 23rd at Clear Fork Country for an Element II Weatherby 12 guage shotgun. Tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50. Tickets are available at Clear Fork Country or at the Jacksboro National Bank.
Saturday, August 9th is Free Trash Day beginning at 8:00 AM, and don't forget that water bills are due on Monday, August 10th.
Our Employee Spotlight of the Week is Tedra Bilby. Tedra has done an incredible job getting the Police Department ready for Chief Penny's arrival and ensuring he was able to begin hiring new officers as soon as possible. Tedra handles all the Public Information Requests for the Police Department, as well as maintaining control and responsibility for the evidence room.
