This week the Jacksboro Fire Department responded to thirty (calls) calls for service. Nine (9) calls were in the City, and twenty-one (21) were in the County. Fifteen (15) were EMS calls, five (5) motor vehicle accidents, three (3) grass fires, three (3) environmental calls, and one (1) fire alarm call. Three (3) calls were dispatched and canceled in route.
The Distribution and Collection responded to twenty-one (21) calls for service. Additionally, they completed the installation of a ten-inch water line at the Water Treatment Plant between the filters and the clear well.
Parks and Recreation spent a large part of the week preparing for the Homecoming Parade, the 150th Anniversary Celebration, and the Third Annual Fly-in.
Our Animal Shelter continues to remain full with both dogs and a growing number of cats. The sign for the Dog Park should be installed by the end of next week.
I attended a Board of Directors meeting for the Texas Health Pool.
Our Employee Spotlight of the Week is Noah Rose. Noah is one of our newest employees, and works in the Parks and Recreation Department. He does an outstanding job maintaining our parks and other areas around the City. In addition to the other members of Parks and Rec he has gone above and beyond getting things ready for the upcoming busy weekend.
Our next City Council Meeting is October 27th. The regularly scheduled meeting for October 13th is cancelled due to Columbus Day.
