City of Jacksboro Off-Leash Dog Park
You will find the rules and regulations for the Off-Leash Dog Park located at 1070 US Hwy 380 West, next to the Animal Shelter. Hours of operation are from sun up to sun down daily, but the park is subject to closure upon determination by the City that there is a reason deemed to be in the public's interest of safety.

§ 10.02.071. Establishment.
Designation. The City Council may establish in consultation with the city manager certain areas owned by the city as “dog parks” or “off-leash dog recreation areas” where dog owners or those in charge of a dog or dogs may bring their dogs to run at large. Due consideration shall be given to operational and animal regulation and care issues, including but not limited to:
- Security measures to assure that the unleashed dogs remain contained within the dog recreation area;
- Disease control of dogs using the dog recreation area;
- Feces control within and around the dog recreation area; and
- Provisions for the exclusion of dogs that do not participate in compliance with the applicable regulations or that demonstrate aggressive behavior towards other dogs or persons.

§ 10.02.072. Use Regulations
The following rules will apply to any off-leash dog recreation area (dog park) established by the City Council and be posted:
- Limit of 2 dogs per handler in the dog park.
- The small dog enclosure is for dogs under 30 pounds.
- All dogs must be leashed when entering and leaving the dog park.
- All dogs must have current rabies vaccinations and should be healthy and free of contagious diseases and parasites. A copy of the rabies vaccination certificate or tags must be available for inspection.
- Dogs must be in view of and within voice control of their owner/handler at all times. Never leave dogs unattended.
- Dog owners/handlers are responsible for cleaning up and disposing of their dog’s feces in and around the recreation area.
- Dogs in heat are NOT permitted.
- Dogs showing any sign of aggression must be leashed and removed immediately from the dog park.
- No dogs allowed under the age of 4 months.
- No children under the age of 12 without adult supervision. Running and chasing dogs is strictly prohibited.
- No food, drink, alcoholic beverages or smoking allowed in the dog park.
- No bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades or any motorized vehicles.
- The owner waives liability to the City for any injury or damage cause (by dogs or humans) while accessing or using the dog park.
- The park is subject to closure upon determination by the City that there is a reason deemed to be in the public’s interest of safety.
- Use of this dog park is at your own risk. Dog owners/handlers are responsible for the actions and behavior of their dogs at all times.
