  • Your citation will be filed in the court within 2-4 days. You may call the court for general information at (940) 567-6321, but you must make an appearance in person, by mail, or by phone to take care of the citation. The Municipal Court is located at: 112 West Belknap Jacksboro, TX 76458

  • The sales and use tax for the city is 8.25%. The State of Texas receives 6.25% and the City receives 2% of this tax. The proceeds from the City's portion of this tax are used to support the general operations of the city. 

    Specifically, 1.75% of this tax is deposited in the General Fund of the city and the remaining .25% is governed by a non-profit economic development corporation designed to make infrastructure improvements to attract economic activity to the community (established pursuant to Section 4B of the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979).

  • The Jacksboro City Council meets for regular meetings on the second and fourth Monday of every month in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 112 West Belknap, at 5:30 p.m.

  • The City of Jacksboro has water, sewer and trash services.  The City does not offer electric services.

    In order to establish a water/sewer and trash account with the City, we require the following:

    • Complete an application for services.  You can pick up an application at City Hall, or here.
    • Submit your application with a valid photo I.D. and a copy of proof of ownership or a lease agreement for a rental property.

    You will bring your documents into City Hall located at 112 W Belknap during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  A residential account requires a $100 deposit.  A commercial account requires a $200 deposit, but this may vary depending on the size of the business.

    If you are leasing or renting a residential property, you will need to apply for a certificate of occupancy, and our Building Inspector will make sure that your property is up to code.   The certificate of occupancy fee is $25.  

    If you are turning on services for a commercial property, you will also need a certificate of occupancy.  The fee for a commercial C.O. is $100.

  • The Human Resources department accepts the applications, and will contact you regarding an interview for employment.  The interview and hiring are the responsibilities of each individual department.

  • After all interviews have been conducted the department head will notify Human Resources of the candidate that has been chosen. From that point forward the following steps must be completed:
